Philanthropy
Tri State Chapter is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for Charitable purposes – B.W. Harris Alumni Association, USA, Inc. All financial and material resources generated through efforts by the chapter is to support secondary education at B.W. Harris School in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa.
Mission
Tri State chapter’s mission is to enable members to remain committed, informed and engaged in the continuous educational development of B.W. Harris School into the future.
Vision
Tri State’s chapter vision is to generate enthusiasm among alumni of B. W. Harris School residing in the states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.This enthusiasm is translated through financial and material contributions to B.W. Harris School.

Tri State Chapter Signature Projects
Archbishop George D. Browne Program
Archbishop George D. Browne survived death threats in his efforts to bring peace and democracy to Liberia. He served on a commission that proposed democratic changes in Liberia's Constitution, but they were opposed by the authoritarian President, Samuel K. Doe. The Archbishop opened seven churches to help victims of the country’s civil war. Although many other religious leaders fled, Archbishop Browne tried to negotiate among warring factions.
The Tri State Chapter George D. Browne Annual Award Program identifies individuals from all areas of Life who demonstrates forward thinking, competency, Inspiration, and Intelligence in their respective endeavors. The Program is seventeen years old and is the signature program of Tri State Chapter.
Kindergarten Class Projects
Tri State Chapter has adapted the “B.W. Harris Kindergarten Project”. The goal of this project is to modernize the Kindergarten Classes by rehabilitating the classrooms, providing teaching and Classroom materials to list a few commitments.
Presently, two (32 inch) TVs, a drinking water filter, Cots, back packs and textbooks have been contributed. The chapter is soliciting contributions from members and sponsors in preparation to ship contributions to B.W. Harris School in fiscal year 2018-2019.

About us
The Tri State Chapter is one of the oldest of B.W. Harris Alumni Association, USA, Inc chapters; of the many fundraising initiatives, the Chapter’s signature Annual Bishop George D. Browne program is primary. This program honors individuals and organizations in our community who demonstrates leadership, professionalism, entrepreneurship and other characteristics that serves as example for all to emulate. The Bishop George D. Browne awards are designed to advance community service, charitable contributions and encourage future generations of leaders.

Kindergarten Class Project – 24 inch TV
Distinguished members, Mr. & Mrs. T. Brown and Mr. “J.S”. Scott have donated two (24) inch TVs to the Tri State Chapter, B.W.H. Kindergarten Project. Donations are scheduled to be executed in the upcoming fiscal year.
Kindergarten Class Project – Water Filter
Tri State chapter has received commitment to donate one (1) water filter for the kindergarten class in the upcoming school year. “LifeStraw Community” is a high-volume, point-of-use community water purifier with built-in safe storage, which provides microbiologically safe drinking water for schools, health facilities, workplaces and community settings.
